A small school with a big heart, rooted in Makapanstad.

Since 1987 we have walked beside the families of Mosate Section — teaching every child to read, to wonder, and to believe that their voice belongs in the future of South Africa.

Welcome from the Principal

Dumelang. We are glad you found us online.

Makapanstad Primary School is a public, no-fee Section 21 school serving Grade R to Grade 7. We are part of the Bojanala East Education District in North West Province, and our learners come mostly from Mosate Section and the surrounding farms.

We are not a wealthy school — but the families here have shown us that a school’s real worth is measured in patience, attention, and the small daily moments when a child first reads a word, or stands up straight to answer a question. That is what we promise to keep doing.

Why families choose us

Small classes, steady teachers, and a community that shows up.

Our average class size is around 32 learners — small for a township school — and most of our class teachers stay with the school for many years. That means children move through the grades with people who already know them.

The SGB meets monthly. Parents help with reading mornings, with the garden, and with our Grade 7 farewell. None of this is glossy, but it is real, and it is ours.

“My boy started Grade R here not knowing any English. By the end of Grade 3 he was reading me the road signs all the way to Hammanskraal. The teachers know him.”
